Pulsatile Tinnitus or Pulsating Tinnitus?
Hi my name is Jaynie Wilton, and I started this blog to help others suffering with tinnitus (Ringing in the ears) and more specifically Pulsatile Tinnitus. I’m not a physician or scholar, however I know what it’s like to deal every day with this awful condition!
If you are constantly hearing a pulsating sound in your ears/head (like I used to)…You’re desperately looking for a way to stop the “mind numbing” ringing in your ears! Keep reading and you’ll see all the details about my story with Pulsatile Tinnitus and how I finally ended the suffering…
If you think you are suffering from Pulsating Tinnitus, this is how you would feel 24/7…

Note: Tinnitus is typically caused by trauma to your eardrum (i.e. ear piercing sounds) or a detrimental health condition.
My Pulsatile Tinnitus story…
My first episode with tinnitus happened many years ago. I was at an indoor shooting range with my husband, and for some reason the earplug fell out of my right ear. I didn’t know it fell out until I heard a very loud POWWWWW!!!
The guy next to me was shooting a freaking hand cannon, and my ears immediately started to buzz with a high pitched ringing noise…like a tuning fork ringing in my ear. I couldn’t hear anything in my right ear for a few days, but my hearing eventually came back.
My next experience with pulsatile tinnitus was more serious, and this is the reason why I’m writing this blog. A couple of years after my “gun range” saga, I started a new job (very stressful), and was not taking care of my health. I started to put on the pounds, and stress at work just added to my bad eating habits.
One morning I woke up feeling drained and light headed. And could faintly hear noises similar to a TV without reception…you know that shooooing noise. I kinda got used to this, and it didn’t really bother me much.
A few days went by, and the buzzing noises started to get much louder, and I could actually hear my heartbeat at the same time. There were episodes of extreme thumping/popping noises, and it got to the point where the constant ringing/thumping noise was almost unbearable!
“Time to see the doctor” said my husband. So off to the doctor I went.
As usual the doc didn’t have anything good to say except that I should get more exercise, eat more healthy meals, and try to lower stress at work. Her diagnosis was that I might be experiencing vertigo combined with a migraine headache. So I tried relaxation techniques and the prescription medications that the doc gave me, but nothing seemed to work.
My head felt like a ticking time bomb ready to explode, and the constant thumping noises turned me into a total bitch! I was always tired, irritated, snappy, and nobody wanted to be around me…including my husband.
After a few more visits to the doctor, she determined that this might be more serious than she expected. So she ran a couple of tests to rule out any life threatening illness. After the tests came back the good new was that I wasn’t going to die yet. The bad news was that I had Pulsatile Tinnitus…I said pulsating what?!? The Doc said “you have a condition called pulsatile tinnitus that effects thousands of people each year.”
I thought to myself if thousands of people have this disorder then there must be a cure? So I said to the doc “okay so what’s the game plan to get rid of this crap”, thinking that I could just take a couple of pills and be done with it. Then the unexpected happened, the doc told me that there isn’t a cure, and you just have to deal with it until it goes away.
I immediately had a vision of reaching across the table and strangling my doctor for being so casual about this! “You must be joking! How am I going to deal with this any longer?!?” I thought.
Fast-forward three months…
I went from doctor to doctor to get help, but they all had the same diagnosis and treatment plan. All I wanted was to get some relief so I can function normally again. I was desperate, and would do anything to be able to cope with the constant ringing in my ears.
As you can imagine, I couldn’t handle my duties at work, and was put on probation; I couldn’t sleep or eat properly, and my health was deteriorating. I desperately need to do something real quick. The pulsating sounds were too much, and my nerves were shot…I was ready to do anything.
One of the doctors recommended that my only option at that point was to go “under the knife.” They would cut here and there, and hopefully that would cure the pulsatile tinnitus. That sounded like a great idea even if there was a chance that the surgery wouldn’t work…but hey at that point I would’ve tried anything if there were hope.
Anyway to make a long story much longer, I didn’t opt for surgery, and later found out that surgery could’ve caused irreversible damage to my inner ear. The reason that I didn’t go through with surgery is that me dear friend Jenny (I call her my angel) did some research online to see if there were any alternative treatments for Pulsatile Tinnitus.
Jenny said that most of the tinnitus treatments she came across sounded crazy except for one. So she sent me to a site called http://tinnitusringingears.com/ I read through the whole page and actually found it to be very educational…especially for a page that was created to sell me something.
At this point I said, “To hell with it, this course is cheap, and if it doesn’t work it’s no big deal, but if it does work then I won’t have to think about surgery any longer.” So I downloaded the course that was offered on their site and began to study it page by page. I learned more about tinnitus in the first few chapters than any doctor ever explained to me.
I basically used their 3-step system (with charts and checklists) to systematically eliminate the root causes of pulsatile tinnitus, which helped me to get rid of the pulsating sounds in my ears. However, it did take work and persistence to complete the program, so don’t think for a second that this is some magic pill that will wipe away tinnitus in a day.
For those of you suffering from pulsating tinnitus or “regular” tinnitus right now, this may seem unbelievable, but within 10 days of using the program I started to feel better and the pulsating/ringing sounds were slowly subsiding. I was even able to get a good nights rest for the first time in a few months…woohoo!
Since I’ve been following the tinnitus program, I haven’t had any recurring problems with ringing or pulsating in my ears. And I know if I keep with the program, I never will…
So that’s it folks…that’s how I treated and cured my pulsatile tinnitus symptoms. No prescription medicines, anti-anxiety drugs, muscle relaxers, anti-depressants or surgery needed…just followed a 3-step program and some lifestyle changes put me back on track.
Good luck to you and if you want to check out the site, here’s the address one more time… http://tinnitusringingears.com
Sincerely,
Jaynie Wilton
p.s. They mention on their site that you can get pulsatile tinnitus relief within 7 days, but in my case it took nearly 10 days to see results. I realize that my situation was probably more extreme than most cases, so the longer time period makes sense. Either way my pulsatile tinnitus symptoms are gone for good! Oh Yeah!
